Tubby Comfort, as evidenced by his name, is a rather-portly underworld informant frequently used by L.A.P.D. Sergeant Robert Goodman to gain intel on ongoing organized crime cases. Some of his info came in handy during the Melissa Hayes kidnapping case in 1992. He appears in the Columbo episode No Time to Die, played by Cliff Emmich. In the original Ed McBain novel from which the episode was adapted, the Tubby Comfort character was known as Fats Donner.
